PLACTIVE AN1™ is an innovative Nanocomposite developed with a high quality PLA and a patented, scientifically validated and highly effective Nano-Copper additive.

This unique combination of technologies brings the following characteristics:

Antibacterial action has been scientifically validated eliminating more than 99.99% of fungi, viruses, bacteria and a wide range of microorganisms.

Antibacterial properties confirmed by two microbiology laboratories in Chile and USA. PLACTIVE™ is a FDA Registered Material and EU compliant (No. 10/2011, No. 1935/2004 and No. 2023/2006). The manufacturer also has certification ISO 9001/2015 and is REACH compliant.

It has thermoforming characteristics that facilitates post-processing and final adjustments of the 3D printed application.

Non-toxic product and environmentally friendly (biodegradable).

Clinically tested in prosthesis for amputees with excellent results. Ideal for the manufacture of other medical applications where it’s dangerous to have bacterial contamination, such as postoperative prostheses, wound dressing and surgical equipment.

The Nano-Additive mantains all the mechanical properties of the material.

PLACTIVE is currently being tested by NASA to evaluate its impact on interplanetary microbial contamination.

The Nano-Additive maintains all the mechanical properties of the TPU98A material like strong & flexibility, high heat resistance (138°C), 450% elongation at break and easy to print at vel. >75mm/s.

Clinically tested in prosthesis for amputees with excellent results. it’s also ideal for the manufacture of other medical applications where it’s dangerous to have bacterial contamination, such as postoperative prostheses, wound dressing and orthopedic insoles.

MD1 Flex it’s also has a food contact clearance No. 1935/2004.

Absolutely. It behaves like a high quality PLA or PETG, with its mechanical properties intact. The only (big) difference is that contains an antibacterial nano-additive that does not alter the base polymer.

ABSOLUTELY YES! This is the magic behind the concept of “Antibacterial 3D Printing”, you can print anything you want with fully antibacterial properties! We call this new kind of objects “AntibiObjects”.

We create this portfolio of materials thinking about people who are developing 3D printed medical devices and other projects where antibacterial properties could play an important role. Although our products are certified and have properties that make them especially suitable for manufacturing medical devices, according to the regulations of each country the medical devices may have to go through an additional certification process.
