More About MakerClub
Who are MakerClub?
Makerclub are a group of inventors, teachers, explorers and enthusiasts; all passionate about technology and making the world a better place.
Their mission is to give people all the tools and skills they need to solve problems and build their own inventions using technology, and to help schools deliver STEAM in the most effective and fun way possible. Makerclub’s hardware, online platform and kit have been purpose-built to create a new generation of inventors and problem-solvers.
How can I use MakerClub resources at my school?
MakerClub is best suited for 7+ years olds and our curriculum is mapped to KS1-3. Our technology has been developed to a “low floor, high ceiling and wide walls” specification – meaning that newcomers can get started easily, while more experienced makers can work on increasingly complex projects.
What age range is MakerClub suited for?
The Class Kit is designed to accommodate 16 students. Add-ons can be purchased to increase this number if required.
Do my student’s need any prior computing knowledge?
The good news is there’s no experience needed. MakerClub’s self-paced curriculum gets students started on their own, with extra online resources readily available for them if they run into difficulties. The Teachers Dashboard contains a comprehensive Onboarding module, and all the resources you’ll need! One of our implementation team will also be there every step of the way to make sure you hit the ground running.
How many students can use the MakerClub Class Kit?
The Class Kit is designed to accommodate 16 students. Add-ons can be purchased to increase this number if required.
Do the teaching staff need coding/building experience to run a MakerClub?
The good news is there’s no experience needed, just a desire to learn and get involved. MakerClub’s self-paced curriculum gets students started on their own, with extra online resources readily available for them if they run into difficulties.
Am I able to monitor and track what my students are learning?
Of course! With the help of your Teacher Dashboard, you will be able to see how each student is progressing through their projects, which badges they have unlocked and the knowledge and skills they have acquired.
What do my students learn with MakerClub?
Makerclub’s curriculum aims to prepare young people to be inventors, covering topics from science and computing to art and design. The modules are designed to be flexible which enables us to provide members with as much choice as possible over what project they are working on, while ensuring that all the key requirements are covered.
